About the role
- This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, TN.
- This role ensures safe, reliable, and compliant electrical systems across the facility while supporting new equipment integration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a team of electrical power and electronics engineers/technicians
- Oversee design, installation, and maintenance of facility electrical power systems (480V/240V distribution, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, generators)
- Own electrical standards, safety compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CE), and documentation
- Provide engineering support for machine-level electrical systems: power distribution, drives, controls electronics, sensors, and wiring
- Partner with Facilities, Manufacturing, and Automation teams on equipment installations and upgrades
- Lead root-cause analysis for electrical failures, downtime events, and equipment reliability issues
- Drive continuous improvement in power reliability, energy efficiency, and electrical safety
- Provide capital project support including scope development, design review, and commissioning
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field and 7+ years of experience in power electronics design and development.
- Citizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work
- Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams
- Strong knowledge of electrical standards, safety compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CE), and documentation
- Experience in manufacturing or nuclear industry
- Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware development
