About the role

  • This position is full-time and will be based out of Oak Ridge, TN.
  • This role ensures safe, reliable, and compliant electrical systems across the facility while supporting new equipment integration, upgrades, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of electrical power and electronics engineers/technicians
  • Oversee design, installation, and maintenance of facility electrical power systems (480V/240V distribution, switchgear, MCCs, UPS, generators)
  • Own electrical standards, safety compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CE), and documentation
  • Provide engineering support for machine-level electrical systems: power distribution, drives, controls electronics, sensors, and wiring
  • Partner with Facilities, Manufacturing, and Automation teams on equipment installations and upgrades
  • Lead root-cause analysis for electrical failures, downtime events, and equipment reliability issues
  • Drive continuous improvement in power reliability, energy efficiency, and electrical safety
  • Provide capital project support including scope development, design review, and commissioning

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Electronics, or related field and 7+ years of experience in power electronics design and development.
  • Citizenship - To be considered, you must be a United States (U.S.) citizen due to the federal nature of the work
  • Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams
  • Strong knowledge of electrical standards, safety compliance (NEC, NFPA 70E, UL, CE), and documentation
  • Experience in manufacturing or nuclear industry
  • Familiarity with embedded systems and firmware development
