About the role

  • In this Principal-level, hands-on Director role reporting to the VP of Information Security, you will connect strategy to execution by turning security goals into secure-by-default, compliant systems and practices that teams actually use.
  • This role provides security strategy, guidance, tooling, visibility, coordination, and escalation mechanisms that enable teams to meet those obligations consistently at scale

Responsibilities

  • Drive enterprise-wide adoption of Security and Privacy by Design, ensuring security, privacy, and compliance requirements are proactively integrated into products, services, and technology platforms
  • You will partner closely with engineering leaders and senior ICs to reduce friction, align on priorities, and drive consistent follow-through, protecting our fans and our platform without sacrificing delivery velocity.
  • Success will be through influence and enablement, and you will also periodically build practical solutions, such as reference implementations and tooling integrations, that make it easier for teams to adopt the right security patterns.
  • You will own the engineering-facing mechanisms that make security real in day-to-day delivery:
  • Engineering teams remain accountable for design, implementation, operation, and remediation of their services.
  • You possess strong application security fundamentals such as: authn/authz, session security, secure API design, data protection, threat modeling, and secure SDLC practices.
  • Support program for new parents

Requirements

  • You exhibit Principal-level technical leadership with a proven track record of leading cross-team security initiatives through influence, clarity, and shipping real systems-not just policies.
  • You have cloud & platform security experience such as: IAM concepts, secrets management, key management, service-to-service auth patterns, and logging/detection fundamentals.

Nice to have

  • Experience with streaming/media security and DRM ecosystems and output protection concepts.
  • Experience with mobile and device ecosystems (iOS/Android/TV devices), including secure storage patterns and platform attestation.
  • Familiarity with reverse engineering tools and client hardening/anti-tamper approaches.
  • Exposure to privacy/security compliance partnerships (GRC) and working with legal/product on policy requirements.

Compensation

  • The Pay Range for this position is listed.
  • $249,000 - $305,000 USD
