About the role

  • The Executive Director is responsible for the overall direction of hospice services.
  • He/she is responsible for the employment of qualified hospice personnel; is responsible for the provision of hospice services, directly; is responsible for establishing standards of care to comply with federal and state regulations and guidelines.
  • Hours / Schedule: Full Time; (40) hours / week.

Responsibilities

  • Establishes and maintains effective, open channels of communication. Fosters a no-blame culture that encourages reporting of safety and quality of services issues.
  • Conducts regular staff meetings and maintains minutes
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management to support department goals and initiatives.
  • The Executive Director establishes, implements, and evaluates goals and objectives for hospice services that meet and promote the standards of quality and contribute to the total organization and philosophy.

Requirements

  • Must have a minimum of 3 years of hospice management experience.
  • Must have a good working knowledge of hospice federal and state guidelines as well as Medicare and Medicaid hospice payor requirements.
  • Must have a demonstrated ability to supervise, direct, and motivate professional and administrative personnel.
  • Must have the ability to deal tactfully with the community and have knowledge of corporate business management.
  • Must be able to communicate an understanding of hospice care and the services provided to patient and family/caregivers through an interdisciplinary group.
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and is in good working order.
  • Shows ability to organize and prioritize workload Independently.

Nice to have

  • Registered Nurse strongly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
