About the role
- Thumbtack is the one app you need to take care of and improve your home - from personalized guidance to AI tools and a best-in-class hiring experience.
Responsibilities
- Drive iOS feature projects to completion, focusing on the business and customer impact of those projects.
- Work closely with back-end engineers, product managers, designers, data analysts, and other teams to gather feedback, prioritize projects, and deliver solutions.
- Passionate iOS engineer with experience building, testing, releasing, and maintaining apps written in Swift or Objective-C.
- Cross-functional collaboration and communication. We're moving quickly, so it's important for our engineers to communicate their status regularly, proactively bring up potential blockers and risks, and keep our cross-functional partners in the loop.
- We accomplish this by focusing both on getting the fundamentals right around core experiences like login and auth, as well as by building new features that allow us to better understand user needs early in their journey to get them to the right place.
- As an engineer, balancing places we can be scrappy to test ideas quickly vs places we need to take more care to exercise engineering rigor and build things the right way is important.
- Given we have cross functional teams, if you like looking at user problems from a product or design perspective, you'll be a great fit for this.
