About the role
- Shipping Supervisor is directly responsible for supervising the shipping/warehouse operation, and personnel.
- The incumbent will be responsible for achieving excellence in executing and controlling assigned shipping/warehousing operations.
- Ensure the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) are being adhered to in the handling and storage of all materials
Responsibilities
- The Shipping Supervisor is also responsible for the general housekeeping of the warehouse, assigning tasks as needed to maintain a safe, neat, and orderly environment.
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipping activities; monitor performance of operators against standard operating procedures, identify areas for improvement and implement resolution.
- Manage all aspects of rail shipping, including coordinating the partner activity with third party trans loaders and related carriers
Requirements

Nice to have
- Oversee inbound and outbound shipping activities
- Provide proper training to shipping employees in the area of safety, standards operating procedures, and quality standards.
- Generate reports or other written correspondence needed to insure proper administration of the department.
- Ensure all pre and post-shift equipment inspections are conducted.
- Bachelor's Degree Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) is preferred
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in high volume distribution environment is required
- APCIS-Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) APICS certification is preferred OR
- Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) is preferred OR
Skills
- Proven leadership abilities and direct the work of others
- Familiar with standard Manufacturing concepts, practices & procedures
- Computer skills must exceed basic knowledge to include Microsoft Office and Inventory software
- Experience with truck and rail carriers - systems, costs, infrastructure

Compensation
- $56,000-$77,000
