About the role

  • The Junior Paralegal provides assistance to litigation attorneys and paralegals, primarily in the area of discovery and trial.
  • This role will also assist in a variety of administrative tasks.
  • Candidate should also be flexible to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares document productions
  • Proofreads briefs and other legal documents
  • Maintains case and document databases, updates files
  • Basic document review and light research
  • Supports trial preparation efforts including creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, working with witness schedules, maintaining trial calendars
  • Assists with practice department activities/project work assignments as needed, and performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
  • High attention to detail, outstanding organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of the organization
  • Critical thinker with the ability to shift priorities and manage change with a positive outcome

Nice to have

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Certificate in paralegal studies from an accredited institution preferred
  • equivalent experience considered
  • Certified Paralegal a plus
  • One to three years of litigation experience
  • law firm experience is preferred
  • Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Exceptional computer and internet research skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation
  • Ability to prioritize workload, adapt to a fast-paced environment
