About the role

  • Qualified Behavioral Health Providers are trained professionals who work under the supervision of a licensed therapist or psychologist who help individuals, families, and couples address and overcome various mental health challenges.
  • They provide a range of therapeutic services within their associated geographical region, field and scope of practice such as counseling, psychotherapy, and behavior modification techniques.
  • As a Qualified Behavioral Health Provider, your primary responsibility is to assess, diagnose, and treat clients/patients based on their individual needs.

Responsibilities

  • Determine and document diagnosis based on comprehensive assessment.
  • Develop treatment plans for clients/patients in accordance with state regulatory/accreditation/agency standards that demonstrate individualization and evolution based on information gathered from assessment.
  • Document all services provided in accordance with state regulatory/accreditation/agency standards.
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with referral sources, clients/patients, and coworkers, adhering to Code of Ethics and agency policies/procedures.

Requirements

  • Achievement of thirty-six (36) hour training requirements within a 2 year period in accordance with 9 CSR 10-7.110 E 1.
  • Must possess at least a Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field.
  • Must be able to obtain full licensure with the applicable board of professional registration for the state they are practicing.
  • This includes completing all required clinical supervision hours and passing a licensing exam.
  • Must be willing to become licensed in additional states, other than the state currently licensed in.
  • Must be willing and comfortable with providing telehealth services to the individuals we serve (training will be provided).
  • Must be able to obtain full licensure with the applicable board of professional registration for the state they are practicing. This includes completing all required clinical supervision hours and passing a licensing exam.

Skills

  • Detailed knowledge of the problems encountered by persons with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Knowledge of supervisory and training techniques and practices used in a mental health and/or substance use disorder treatment setting.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Capable of communicating ideas clearly and effectively verbally and in writing to produce clear and concise reports.
  • Able to establish effective relationships via telephone or telehealth and personal contacts.
  • Able to follow direction and accept supervision.
