Job Description: Hai Hospitality (Uchi, Uchiko, and Uchiba) is accepting applications for an experienced Pastry Sous Chef to join the opening team at Uchi Salt Lake City!

Annual Salary: $75,000 to $80,000, depending on experience.

Motivate, mentor and develop a pastry team
Maintain the high standards in a high-volume, scratch kitchen
Develop innovative desserts for daily service, special events, and off-site catering
Collaborate closely with the culinary leadership team to support overall kitchen operations
Manage ordering, scheduling, inventory, and other administrative responsibilities
Ability to travel to other locations for support
Skilled at delivering constructive feedback and developing others

Must be able to effectively communicate with guests and other employees
Must have the ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Ability to work in a variety of temperatures, both hot and cold
Ability to use kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, such as ovens, grills, and knives
Ability to work in close proximity to coworkers in a crowded kitchen or serving area
