About the role
- The corporate bond trader will be an integral member of the fixed income taxable bond investment team.
- The taxable bond team consists of portfolio managers (PMs), research analysts and traders that work together to make informed investment decisions that benefit our shareholders.
- Candidates for the position will possess exceptional corporate trading acumen, market knowledge, thought leadership, and communication skills.
Responsibilities
- This role will directly support our corporate bond market strategies across different investment teams.
- Partner with PMs, research analysts and fellow traders to generate investment ideas that have positive impact on our investment performance.
- Maintain strong dealer relationships (sales, trading, and syndicate).
- Partner with technology, compliance, legal, operations, and other internal groups to provide best-in-class service and execution capabilities to the portfolios.
Requirements
- 10+ years sell-side or buy-side experience trading corporate bonds and credit derivatives.
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Finance, or other relevant quantitative subject area.
- Must be team oriented.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with a consistent focus on accuracy.
- Ability to think creatively and independently while working in a collaborative environment.
Skills
- Strong analytical ability along with excellent communication skills.
- Aptitude for using new technologies to enhance our workflow, trading systems, and advance a quantitative approach where applicable.
