About the role

  • The Senior Financial Analyst also contributes to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls by identifying opportunities and supporting analytical tools that strengthen future planning.
  • This position works from Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas.
  • It reports to the Director of Finance and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary finance business partner for an assigned business channel, owning the full FP&A cycle including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial support for channel leadership*
  • Lead the analysis of historical and forward-looking financial data within the assigned channel to surface insights, identify risks and opportunities, and support informed business decisions
  • Own and manage quarterly budget forecasts and monthly variance reporting distributed to management across the company*
  • Produce and own monthly budget versus actual financial statements, delivering accurate and timely reporting in support of finance leadership*
  • Maintain and continuously improve the efficiency and accuracy of the 17-week cash flow forecast*
  • Develop ad hoc financial reports and analysis in support of finance leadership's reporting and decision-making needs
  • Design, build, and maintain databases of pertinent financial information, including analytical reports used in evaluating future plans and forecasts
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Nice to have

  • 2-4 years of experience with a related degree, 4-7 years of experience with a non-related degree, or 5+ years of industry experience preferred

Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including financial modeling, complex formulas, and data analysis.
  • Experience using NetSuite accounting software and Workday Adaptive Insights planning tool strongly preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial statements and the accounting relationships among them.
  • Strong command of financial metrics, cash flow management, and FP&A best practices including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from a 4-year college or university preferred
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or a related field required
  • Experience working cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders preferred
  • The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
  • The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
