About the role

The Senior Financial Analyst also contributes to the continuous improvement of financial processes and controls by identifying opportunities and supporting analytical tools that strengthen future planning.
This position works from Magnolia Headquarters in Waco, Texas.
It reports to the Director of Finance and has no supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary finance business partner for an assigned business channel, owning the full FP&A cycle including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial support for channel leadership*
Lead the analysis of historical and forward-looking financial data within the assigned channel to surface insights, identify risks and opportunities, and support informed business decisions
Own and manage quarterly budget forecasts and monthly variance reporting distributed to management across the company*
Produce and own monthly budget versus actual financial statements, delivering accurate and timely reporting in support of finance leadership*
Maintain and continuously improve the efficiency and accuracy of the 17-week cash flow forecast*
Develop ad hoc financial reports and analysis in support of finance leadership's reporting and decision-making needs
Design, build, and maintain databases of pertinent financial information, including analytical reports used in evaluating future plans and forecasts
Perform other duties as assigned

Demonstrated ability to independently own recurring financial deliverables and business channel reporting

Nice to have

2-4 years of experience with a related degree, 4-7 years of experience with a non-related degree, or 5+ years of industry experience preferred

Skills

Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel required, including financial modeling, complex formulas, and data analysis.
Experience using NetSuite accounting software and Workday Adaptive Insights planning tool strongly preferred.
Comprehensive understanding of financial statements and the accounting relationships among them.
Strong command of financial metrics, cash flow management, and FP&A best practices including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration from a 4-year college or university preferred
3-5 years of progressive experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, or a related field required
Experience working cross-functionally with non-finance stakeholders preferred
The employee is frequently required to stand and walk.
The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
