About the role

  • As a Tech 3, you will take a leadership role in overseeing the safety, quality, and efficiency of the work performed.
  • This role demands advanced composite repair expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections of wind turbine blades visually
  • Serve as a lead technician, mentoring and training junior blade repair personnel
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and maintenance teams to resolve technical challenges
  • Document all activities in compliance with company and customer requirements, delivering detailed repair reports
  • Conduct and document site-specific risk assessments, including Job Site Analysis (JSA)
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, equipment use, and certifications to comply with regulatory and company requirements
  • Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to plan and prioritize work schedules
  • Create detailed reports on inspection findings, repair work completed, and any follow-up recommendations
  • Maintain logs of all rope access equipment inspections and repairs

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required
  • Must be at a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in wind turbine blade repair or composite repair is required
  • Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record is required
  • Pre-access drug and alcohol testing required
  • Pre-employment MVO and Criminal background checks will be required
  • Ability to lift, move, and carry objects weighing 75lbs. or greater
  • Must be able to walk, sit, stand, bend, reach, and climb
  • Must be able to work in confined spaces and at heights, including climbing tanks, ladders, scaffolding, towers, piping systems, catwalks, structural steel, and wind turbines
  • To be considered, applicants must be able provide documentation of current or previous certifications, as well as all classroom and/or on-the-job training (OJT) hours required for certification.

Nice to have

  • Global Wind Organization - Basic Safety Training NPFA 70 (GWO BST / NPFA 70) is preferred
  • Mid-level experience with rope access techniques and working in outdoor conditions is preferred but is not required

Skills

  • Expertise in composite materials, resin systems, and laminating
  • Proficiency in using tools and power equipment required for blade repairs
