About the role

- We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Insulator to join our team.
- The ideal candidate will have experience insulating HVAC systems, ductwork, plumbing piping, domestic water lines, chilled water lines, and refrigeration lines.
Responsibilities
- Measure work areas and accurately determine material quantities and create material lists.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project documents.
- Assist and support other trade teams during insulation downtime as needed.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
- Properly use and maintain PPE, company tools, rental equipment, and personal hand tools.
- Review project documents, specifications, and drawings to understand mechanical insulation system requirements, insulation materials, and installation methods.
Requirements
- Required hand tools for the trade.
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds and safely handle heavier materials with team assistance.
- Ability to work on ladders, elevated platforms, in confined spaces, and at heights.
- Experience insulating:
- Preferred: 3-4 years of commercial mechanical insulation experience
- HVAC ductwork
- Ability to work from project plans, specifications, and electronic documents.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice to have
- 3-4 years of commercial mechanical insulation experience
- Mechanical piping systems
- Plumbing piping systems
- Domestic water lines
- Chilled water lines
- Refrigeration lines
- Strong understanding of insulation materials and installation techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
