About the role
- Under general supervision, the professional nurse adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) standards of professional nursing and performance, and the ANA Code of Ethics to provide care to all patients.
- Utilizes the Theory of Human Caring and Caritas in daily practice. "Jean Watson, PhD, RN, AHN-BC, FAAN, Founder / Director, Watson Caring Science Institute"
- Learn and execute all job functions as performed by a fully credentialled RN (50%)
Responsibilities
- We understand the support needed for a new nurse to be successful.
- Develop and modify patient care plans as indicated by patient's responses and conditions (5%)
Requirements
- Associate's Degree Nursing Required
- Less than one year experience in a patient care setting required
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
- Department of Regulatory Agencies Required
- BLS-Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) - AHA - American Heart Association or American Red Cross Required
- RN-Registered Nurse - DORA - Department of Regulatory Agencies Required
- Knowledge of techniques, methods and competencies of clinical nursing practices.
- Knowledge of safety principles and infection control in the patient care environment.
- Ability to assess patients' needs and coordinate proper nursing care.
- Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
Nice to have
- Ability to use computers and computer systems.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
Skills
- This program is offered those with no previous RN experience.
- Knowledge of standards, policies and procedures of Denver Health as they pertain to nursing.
- Skill to properly use medical instruments and laboratory equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form.
- Ability to apply nursing principles, practices and techniques.
- Ability to assess patients' needs and coordinate proper nursing care. Ability to respond appropriately to emergency situations.
- Ability to use computers and computer systems. Bilingual skills preferred.
- Microsoft Office Suite required.
- EPIC documentation preferred.
