About the role

  • SLB is seeking a proactive and technically driven PDC Drill Bit Product Development Engineer to join our team in Calgary, Alberta.
  • Analyze drill bit and drilling performance data to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Capture lessons learned and recommend product and performance improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Roles and Responsibilities Develop technical designs and engineering recommendations for drilling applications.
  • Support the development and implementation of new technologies and drilling solutions.
  • Collaborate with product line, sales, operations, and technical experts to optimize job designs and product performance.
  • Support design changes resulting from operational, resource, or service quality requirements.
  • Participate in incident investigations and support corrective actions and failure analysis.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and commercial teams.

Requirements

  • Provide technical support throughout the service delivery process, including field visits as required.
  • Qualifications and Experience Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or a related technical discipline.
  • Experience with PDC and roller cone drill bit design, applications, performance analysis, or product development within the drilling industry.
  • Experience with real-time drilling data platforms such as Pason, NOV WellData, or similar systems is strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Power BI experience is considered an asset.
  • Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada without company sponsorship.
