About the role
- SLB is seeking a proactive and technically driven PDC Drill Bit Product Development Engineer to join our team in Calgary, Alberta.
- Analyze drill bit and drilling performance data to identify optimization opportunities.
- Capture lessons learned and recommend product and performance improvements.
Responsibilities
- Roles and Responsibilities Develop technical designs and engineering recommendations for drilling applications.
- Support the development and implementation of new technologies and drilling solutions.
- Collaborate with product line, sales, operations, and technical experts to optimize job designs and product performance.
- Support design changes resulting from operational, resource, or service quality requirements.
- Participate in incident investigations and support corrective actions and failure analysis.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical and commercial teams.

Requirements
- Provide technical support throughout the service delivery process, including field visits as required.
- Qualifications and Experience Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Geology, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience with PDC and roller cone drill bit design, applications, performance analysis, or product development within the drilling industry.
- Experience with real-time drilling data platforms such as Pason, NOV WellData, or similar systems is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Power BI experience is considered an asset.
- Must be legally authorized to work and reside in Canada without company sponsorship.
