About the role
- The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Surgery, Division of Transplant Surgery is seeking a Nocturnist Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide night-time specialty care for the Transplant Surgery service.
- The APP will provide care for patients of the Froedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin (F&MCW) Transplant Service Line located in Milwaukee, WI as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- The Advanced Practice Provider will contribute to excellence in program administration, patient care, patient safety, research, quality, improvement, and teaching while delivering high-quality overnight coverage.
Responsibilities
- Manage the transplant population including evaluation and preoperative care, as well as follow up postoperative care and coordination of on-going care
- Develop expertise in cross continuum care management and treatment interventions specific to this patient population
- Collaborate with other consultative care teams and the primary team in the management of Kidney and Liver disease
Requirements
- Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
- Physician Assistant: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.
- Minimum Requirements:
- Advanced Practice Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
- Wisconsin RN License
- Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
- Certification Requirements:
- American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
- DEA registration
- Nurse Practitioner Certification from a nationally accredited professional nursing organization
- Will consider FNP or adult care with 2 or more years' experience on Inpatient service or ICU.
Nice to have
- Previous experience working within Transplant Surgery is preferred
- Acute care nurse practitioner preferred.
- Preferred Experience: Previous experience working within Transplant Surgery is preferred
