About the role

  • The Facilities Technician III works with minimal supervision, handles complex technical challenges, and may guide junior staff as needed to ensure safe and efficient facility operations.
  • 10 hour shifts, typically 12am-10am, Wednesday through Saturday (schedule may vary based on operational coverage needs)

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced preventive and corrective maintenance activities on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, utility, safety, and building systems across GMP and non-GMP areas.
  • Maintain and repair complex utility systems including HVAC and environmental control systems, cold storage systems, compressed air and gas systems, Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Water for Injection (WFI) systems, clean steam generation systems, wastewater treatment systems, boilers, pumps, motors, and fire detection and suppression systems.
  • Perform maintenance on GMP lab and process equipment, including bioreactors, centrifuges, filling machines, chromatography systems, autoclaves, glass washers, and related instrumentation.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, equipment logs, inventory tracking, and compliance-related documentation.
  • Support calibration activities and equipment reliability programs as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Laboratory Operations, Engineering, Quality, Safety, and other stakeholders to support continuous facility operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex facilities issues independently.
  • Syner-G is seeking a Facilities Technician III with 5-10 years of experience to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of GMP and non-GMP facility systems, utilities, and equipment.
  • Travel to client sites may be required depending on project demands and client expectations.
  • The physical demands described here are representative of the requirements that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer keyboard and mouse
  • Inspect facility systems and equipment to identify maintenance needs, operational risks, or abnormal conditions and escalate issues when required.
  • Provide technical support, guidance, or mentoring to junior technicians as required.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use a computer keyboard and mouse; reach with hands and arms; talk and listen.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk and sit, as well as to lift and carry objects such as books and files weighing up to 25 pounds.

Nice to have

  • Registered apprenticeship, trade license (electrical, plumbing, HVAC, pipefitting, wastewater, steam engineering, marine engineering), or equivalent technical training strongly preferred.
  • Experience in regulated environments such as cGMP biotech, pharmaceutical, or laboratory operations preferred.
