About the role

  • Cooling performance limits high-power computing, semiconductor fab, cell networks, photonics, power electronics, and most of our digital world.
  • This role generally requires 4 days onsite per week.

Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with Alloy's Solutions Engineers and Thermal Design Engineers on optimizing designs to meet challenging customer requirements.
  • You will have the opportunity to help develop our simulation best practices and learn from our current simulation experts.
  • Do hand calculations, select appropriate correlation coefficients, and build simple scaling models
  • Perform coupled thermo-fluid simulations using CFD software to predict pressure drop and thermal performance
  • Develop and improve best practices around simulation
  • Alloy's patented Stack Forging™ process enables complex micro-geometries, resulting in single-piece, leak-tight parts that deliver superior cooling performance, lower pressure drops, and exceptional reliability.
  • We are committed to creating an equitable and inclusive environment for all our employees and seek to build a team that reflects the diversity of the people we hope to serve with our products.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of industry experience
  • Experience with Siemens SimCenter (required)
  • Experience in thermal-fluid simulation and analysis
  • Experience with a wide range of reference literature on calculating thermal and fluid behavior of components
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa, including H-1B, H-1C, H-2A, H-2B, H-3, F-1 or OPT at this time.
  • Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or other relevant field
  • Experience in thermal-fluid simulation and analysis; including but not limited to comfort with selecting turbulence closures, running mesh refinement studies, estimating model error, extracting dimensionless correlation coefficients from simulations
  • Ability to deliver results in a quickly evolving environment, delivering estimates for thermal performance of a design within a few days to accelerate customer-facing projects
  • Familiarity with design engineering work specifically, an understanding of what an engineering design process looks like and how their work informs that process

Compensation

  • $85,000-105,000 annually dependent on experience, qualifications, and education level
