About the role
- We operate manufacturing facilities in the US, Canada, Germany, China, and Australia, with a team of over 900 employees.
- This role combines hands-on electrical assembly with commissioning leadership to ensure systems are built according to specifications and function correctly during testing and startup.
- The position requires interpreting electrical schematics, assembling and wiring control and power panels, performing electrical testing, programming system controllers, and diagnosing electrical and operational issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform panel mounting and internal/external wiring of electrical assemblies.
- Assemble, evaluate, test, and maintain electrical wiring, equipment, appliances, and apparatus.
- Perform commissioning and functional testing of electrical and electronic systems.
- Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Perform repetitive movements including bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, squatting, and twisting.
- Perform repetitive hand, wrist, and arm motions along with push, pull, grab, pinch and lift arms above the head.
- Maintain balance and coordination while working on uneven surfaces.
- Maintain sufficient visual acuity to identify hazards, read in English or Spanish labels, and operate equipment safely.
Requirements
- This hire will be required to travel to Montreal, Canada for approximately 4 weeks of training, provided by Smardt.
- Minimum 3 years of electrical assembly or related experience.
- Experience in HVAC manufacturing or industrial equipment manufacturing is considered an asset.
- Experience with electrical testing, troubleshooting, and commissioning of equipment.
- The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
- Work in confined or restricted spaces when required.
Nice to have
- Electrical Certificate, Electrical Technician, or related technical training preferred.
Skills
- Strong understanding of electrical fundamentals and circuitry.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and blueprints.
- Experience with electrical assembly, panel wiring, and control systems.
- Familiarity with controller programming is an asset.
- Experience performing electrical testing including Hi-pot testing and circuit diagnostics.
