About the role
- We're currently hiring for open positions in the US and Canada.
- We operate in Canada as Engineered Lifting Systems and Equipment (ELS)/DBA Gorbel® Canada, and subsequent communication related to Canadian positions may show the ELS name.
- You may be contacted by phone by recruitment personnel based in either Canada or New York.
Responsibilities
- Determine and validate exempt/non‑exempt classifications and appropriate pay ranges in compliance with wage and hour laws.
- Partner closely with Recruiting, HR Business Partners, and hiring managers on new hire offers, promotions, and pay adjustments, supporting timely offer extension expectations and responding to candidate and market feedback.
- Support HR audits, reporting, and documentation requirements.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely, accurate data flow between HR, Payroll, Finance, and Recruiting.
- Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Working knowledge of wage, hour, and employment-related compliance requirements.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.

- 2+ years of experience in compensation, benefits, or analytical HR roles.
- Experience in manufacturing or multi-location organizations.
- Exposure to U.S. and Canadian compensation or benefits practices.

Nice to have
- Experience working with HRIS platforms (Workday preferred).

Compensation
- Manage and administer compensation programs-including salary structures, job grading, merit increases, and incentive plans-in alignment with Gorbel's Compensation Philosophy, ensuring internal equity, market competitiveness, and legal compliance across U.S. and Canada operations.
