About the role

  • The LPN works under the direction of the direction of a Registered Nurse or Nurse Manager and functions within the LPN Scope of Practice.
  • This includes age appropriate interventions that meet physical, emotional, developmental, psychosocial and educational needs.
  • The LPN is responsible for coordination and delivery of high-quality care.

Responsibilities

  • Performs routine nursing procedures to meet the need of the patient under the supervision of RN
  • Always partners with the patient, significant others and/or family (as appropriate) to promote a comfortable and safe environment for the delivery of care, making the patients goals the focus of the plan of care.
  • Collaborates with RN to develop and revise individual plan of care based on patient need and physician order
  • Serves as patient educator to foster self- care or caregiver support for the patient

Requirements

  • Float staff will be required to float between Cobb Hospital HOD's based on need.
  • Responsible for accurate completion of required documentation within established timeframe

Nice to have

  • Experience in oncology, ambulatory, outpatient setting preferred Preferred

  • Positive leadership, problem solving skills,

  • Strong assessment and clinical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer skills required.
  • Additionally, must have reliable transportation, a valid Georgia drivers license and scheduling flexibility.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in accessing & de-accessing ports including flushing the line and sterile technique
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skill in medication administration as defined within scope for WHS
