About the role
- The Attending Veterinarian is responsible for the well-being and clinical care of the animal models.
- This responsibility extends to supervising and promoting animal well-being at all times during animal use, and during all phases of the animal's life as well as the compliance monitoring, quality management and safety of the animal models.
- The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person's relevant experience and/or education level.
Responsibilities
- To engender and support a "Culture of Care" within Inotiv while promoting and demonstrating professional standards.
- Providing veterinary support to other Inotiv sites upon request.
Requirements
- Veterinary degree
- Ability to travel (domestic)
- Required Skills/Abilities:
- Fulfilling the role of Attending Veterinarian for the assigned sites as required for PHS OLAW Assurance, AAALAC Accreditation and USDA AWA compliance.
- Fulfilling any other assigned duties that may be required by Inotiv.
- Maintaining state veterinary licensure and federal accreditation through continuing education credits
- Sufficient time in private practice or laboratory animal medicine to gain competency in veterinary herd health, clinical medicine and surgery skills
- Fluent in English, spoken and in writing
- Actively seeks opportunity to develop own skills and knowledge
- Gives practical support and assistance to enable individuals to get the job done
- Discusses process improvement opportunities within own department and across other areas
Nice to have
- Experience carrying out audits or inspections preferred

- ACLAM diplomate or other specialty board certification
Compensation
- Salary will be commensurate with experience and responsibilities.

- Providing veterinary expertise and guidance for customers and other stakeholders regarding animal health and welfare.
- Providing oversight, expertise and practical guidance with regard to animal health monitoring programs.
- Providing directly, and through veterinary designees, continuous coverage of the assigned sites including afterhours/weekend/holiday emergency veterinary availability.
- Contributing veterinary scientific expertise as needed for education and training programs for animal care employees, supervisors, managers and other Inotiv stakeholders.
- Promoting and complying with Inotiv's health and safety procedures.
- $175,000- $200,000 annually, adjusted according to the level of the role and the candidate's relevant experience and/or education.
- This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience.
