About the role
- Participates in the evaluation of new vendor software releases and impact.
- Serves as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders, identifies needs, provides solution options, and communicates issue updates and resolutions 15%
- Integrates, identifies, troubleshoots, monitors, and resolves moderately complex, routine, and varied supported services, systems, network, and application problems according to established processes and procedures 15%
Responsibilities
- Participates in the evaluation of new vendor software releases and impact. Documents and communicates system enhancements or changes 5%
- Runs, maintains, and operates technical systems and infrastructure 15%
- Configures, maintains, upgrades, develops, and tests IT systems and services in alignment with industry best practices 15%
- Works with SVM and DoIT IT teams to develop and deliver scalable computer and storage systems supporting all facets of the UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, including the school, research labs, and its operating teaching hospital.
Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year professional experience managing resources in a private or public cloud environment.
- Knowledge of scripting/coding modern programming languages like Python, Go, Java, or Ruby
- Experience with container and container orchestration solutions like Docker and Kubernetes
Nice to have
- Experience with Agile project management methodology and tools
- Experience with regulatory or security regulations, controls, and benchmarks like HIPPA, NIST 800-53, and CIS
- Associates Degree required.
Compensation
- Minimum starting salary is $95,000 annually.
- Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
