Responsibilities
- Own Slingshot's cloud financial operations strategy across AWS and other cloud platforms.
- Develop forecasting models for cloud infrastructure spend and improve cost predictability.
- Lead initiatives that reduce cloud spend while maintaining application reliability and performance.
- Implement policies, budgets, alerts, and governance controls to improve financial accountability.
- Drive adoption of cloud cost optimization best practices, including rightsizing, commitment management, storage optimization, and resource lifecycle management.
- Partner with engineering leaders to balance technical decisions with financial outcomes.
- Serve as the primary FinOps partner to Engineering while collaborating closely with Finance, Product, and Executive Leadership.
- Develop executive dashboards and KPIs that provide visibility into cloud spending, utilization, and efficiency.
- Manage relationships with cloud vendors and partners.
- Support contract negotiations and evaluate purchasing strategies including Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and enterprise agreements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in FinOps, Cloud Financial Management, FP&A supporting Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, or related technical finance roles.
- Strong understanding of cloud architecture, infrastructure services, and cloud cost drivers.
- Experience with cloud cost management platforms such as CloudHealth, Apptio Cloudability, Finout, ProsperOps, AWS Cost Explorer, or similar solutions.

- Support annual planning, forecasting, and monthly infrastructure budget reviews.
