About the role
- The EHS Specialist will support Riot's Environmental, Health, and Safety programs by promoting a proactive safety culture, ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, and partnering with operations, construction, contractors, and leadership teams to identify hazards and reduce risk.
Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of safe work practices, including lockout/tagout, electrical safety, confined space, hot work, powered industrial trucks, fall protection, machine guarding, emergency response, and personal protective equipment requirements.
- Track corrective actions to closure and partner with supervisors and operations leaders to resolve safety deficiencies.
- Maintain safety records, training documentation, inspection reports, safety metrics, and other EHS program documentation.
- Support contractor safety management by participating in orientations, safety meetings, field reviews, and performance follow-up.
- Provide practical recommendations to improve workplace safety, reduce risk exposure, and support an incident-free work environment.
- Perform other related EHS duties as assigned.

- This role will conduct safety inspections, update and deliver safety training, support incident investigations, maintain safety documentation, and help drive continuous improvement across site operations.
Requirements
- Strictly adhere to all site safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times (e.g., safety glasses, hearing protection, steel-toed boots).

- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, Construction Safety, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
