About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support neuroepidemiology and surveillance science activities related to neurological condition surveillance, including Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, and potential future neurological conditions.
  • Conduct systematic, targeted, and rapid literature reviews to support surveillance methods, case definition development, evidence gap identification, and research prioritization.
  • Support the development, refinement, documentation, and application of case definitions, surveillance methods, abstraction tools, decision rules, and review protocols.
  • Support validation studies and other epidemiologic analyses, including interpretation of findings, review of analytic outputs, quality checks, and documentation of methods and limitations.
  • Collaborate with data analytics, visualization, communications, clinical neurology, and program management teams to produce scientific manuscripts, reports, presentations, tables, figures, maps, dashboards, and leadership-ready summaries.
  • Support development and maintenance of SOPs, technical documentation, code annotations, abstraction guidance, publication trackers, evidence tables, quality control documentation, and knowledge management materials.
  • Support dissemination of surveillance methods, findings, and products through manuscripts, reports, conference materials, briefings, stakeholder materials, and web-ready content.
  • Coordinate with project leadership, federal client staff, subject matter experts, and multidisciplinary team members to track priorities, resolve issues, and maintain timely delivery of high-quality work products.
  • Deliver high-quality client service in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining scientific accuracy, transparency, and reproducibility.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, documents, and review cycles.

Requirements

  • Ability to Obtain NACI
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and SharePoint or similar collaboration and documentation tools.

Nice to have

  • Experience supporting Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, dementia, epilepsy, ALS, or other neurological condition-related research or surveillance.
  • Familiarity with literature review or reference management tools such as DistillerSR, EndNote, Covidence, Zotero, PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, PsycINFO, or similar tools.
  • Familiarity with analytic tools or environments such as SAS, R, Python, SQL, Power BI, Tableau, Databricks, or similar tools.
  • Experience supporting interdisciplinary teams that combine scientific research, data analytics, visualization, communications, stakeholder engagement, and program operations.
