About the role
- The Senior Microsoft Cloud Engineer provides senior-level engineering, operational support, and technical leadership for Microsoft cloud environments, including Microsoft 365, Azure, identity services, collaboration platforms, and security tooling.
- The role is responsible for ensuring cloud systems are secure, scalable, resilient, and aligned to federal compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, operate, and optimize Microsoft 365, Azure, and Microsoft security services.
- Implement and maintain cloud security controls aligned to federal security standards, Zero Trust architecture, and Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP) Moderate requirements.
- Manage and support Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, and related collaboration workloads.
- Configure and manage Defender, Sentinel, Purview, and related platforms for threat protection, data governance, and response readiness.
- Support incident response and disaster response playbooks and procedural documentation.
Requirements
- Eight years of experience engineering and operating enterprise Microsoft cloud environments.
- Advanced experience with identity and access management, multi-factor authentication (MFA) transitions, smart cards, and Fast Identity Online (FIDO)-based authentication across Windows and macOS systems.
- Hands-on experience with Defender, Sentinel, Purview, and Microsoft cloud data sources and monitoring.
- Ability to meet federal screening and suitability requirements prior to start.
- These certifications (or their equivalents) must be current and maintained for a minimum of five years
