Responsibilities
- Lead heavy duty steel supplier selection, RFQ, and contracting process with input from the project team.
- Closely monitor and manage heavy duty steel supplier performance with an emphasis on product quality, cost, and schedule integrity.
- Own the supplier relationship and performance management. Take necessary actions in a timely manner to address performance issues.
- Ensure the RFQ process delivers comparable and project compliant offers
- Negotiate and finalize (or support in case the buying is done by different person) specific subcontracts.
- Support Project Managers in developing and implementing mitigation measures
- Collaborate with other members of the BC Procurement and Supply Chain team for team initiatives and best practice sharing.
Requirements
- Minimum 5-7 years of procurement experience and contract experience with respect to heavy duty steel suppliers in a project environment
- Knowledge of overall project management methods
- Experience in managing supplier relationships, excellent negotiation skills
- Able to travel as required by the business, up to 30% of the time
- Commitment Required.
Nice to have
- A Bachelor's degree in a related discipline (Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business - engineering is preferred).
- Experience from similar industry and project procurement is highly desired and preferred

- The Procurement Specialist, supporting BEUMER North America's Minerals & Mining division, is responsible for developing and executing project-specific procurement strategies and managing transactions with a primary focus on the heavy-duty steel category.
- This role serves as the key point of contact for project teams on all heavy-duty steel-related matters, applying a strong commercial mindset to supplier selection, performance management, price negotiation, and the establishment of favorable commercial terms and contracts.
- The overarching objective is to ensure that selected heavy-duty steel suppliers consistently meet contractual obligations, thereby enabling the successful execution of projects and contributing to the overall success of BEUMER North America's Minerals & Mining operations.
