About the role

  • Relay Trip Assessments & Fault Analysis: Investigate relay trips, determine the cause of faults, and work with system operators and relay technicians to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Troubleshooting & Equipment Maintenance: Conduct basic troubleshooting of substation components, including breakers, transformers, relays, and control systems.
  • Ability to Read Schematics & Diagrams: Capability to interpret single-line diagrams, control schematics, and relay settings.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce LOTO procedures to ensure personnel safety during maintenance and repair operations.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients at the field level and address concerns or escalations as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of switching operations, relay events, equipment conditions, and maintenance activities
  • Problem Solving - Capacity to assess challenges in real time and implement effective solutions.
  • Leadership - Ability to manage and support field teams, providing clear direction and mentorship.

Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 34kg (75lb) Work may take place on ladders, platforms, and cramped spaces with constant standing and kneeling.
  • Travel to multiple sites as required.
  • 3+ years of experience working in substation operations, electrical maintenance, or power distribution.
  • LOTO & Switching Procedures: Proficiency in implementing Lockout/Tagout procedures and performing substation switching operations safely.

Nice to have

  • Technical certification in electrical systems or power distribution preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certifications: Technical certification in electrical systems or power distribution preferred Licenses: Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
