About the role
- Planet Technologies, the Nation's leading Microsoft services provider to the public sector, is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our growing team as Systems Engineer with strong JIRA experience.
Responsibilities
- Builds and develops system architectures, engineering plans, and technical documentation.
- Implements and manages system configurations, security protocols, and operating environments.
- Installs, configures, tests, and maintains operating systems and application software.
- Performs system upgrades and migrations
- Creates and maintains documentation, including diagrams procedures and user manuals.
- Tests, integrates, and validates system activities.
- Collaborate with technical team and stakeholders to ensure timelines and goals are met
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or IT
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, administration, or IT infrastructure support.
- Experience monitoring systems to evaluate security, recommend options for scalability and efficiency
- Knowledge of cybersecurity compliance, federal IT policies and standards
- Federal Agency Clearance Requirements may require up to a 10-year background investigation - US Citizenship (clearable) is required.
- Previous testing, configuration and security implementation experience
- Ability to create and maintain detailed documentation and user manuals
- Ability to hold and maintain a Top Secret Clearance and work onsite in DC five days a week
Nice to have
- ITIL, Atlassian (JIRA) Certification preferred
