About the role
- Job Description Summary Organization's Summary Statement: Resumes are currently being accepted for the Adjunct Faculty-Mathematics position.
- The ideal candidate will be a skillful and enthusiastic educator who is committed to interactive, student-centered teaching of undergraduate mathematics.
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging lectures, lead class discussions, and conduct other teaching activities.
- Maintain weekly office hours and answer emails or other communications in a timely fashion.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- The normal requirement is a Master's degree in the field of instruction or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in the field of instruction.
- The successful candidate must be able to show acceptable documentation establishing the right to accept employment in the United States of America without employer sponsorship.
- Update the required Canvas shell for the class and use it for required class activities.
- The title Lecturer will ordinarily be used to designate appointments of persons who are serving in a teaching capacity for a limited time or part-time.
- Appointments to this rank are typically one to three years and are renewable.
Nice to have
- A master's degree or higher in Mathematics or a related field.
- Individuals with degrees outside of the United States may be subject to verification.
- Verification of the degree is the responsibility of the candidate.
- Availability to teach classes on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays in the time frame between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm is a plus.
- Experience integrating technology into the classroom, working with students (first generation, first year, etc.), and colleagues from diverse backgrounds is highly desired.
