Responsibilities
- Design civil engineering projects including grading, drainage, utility, and roadway plans
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, surveyors, and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and timely delivery
- Use Civil 3D to create alignments, surfaces, corridors, and profiles for design layouts
- Perform engineering calculations and quantity takeoffs
- Contribute to the QA/QC process and provide feedback on design improvements
- Prepare construction documents and technical reports in accordance with applicable standards and client requirements
- Join our partner firm, KFM Engineering & Design, as a Project Engineer, contributing to impactful land development and infrastructure projects across Texas.
- In this mid-level role, you will be responsible for supporting and leading the design, permitting, and execution of civil engineering projects including site development, utility layout, and grading and drainage plans.
- You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support project managers, and contribute to delivering high-quality, technically sound engineering solutions.

Requirements
- 5 years of civil engineering experience, ideally in land development or infrastructure projects
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
- Microsoft 365 proficiency
- 3 - 5 years of civil engineering experience, ideally in land development or infrastructure projects
- PE license
- Solid understanding of civil design principles including grading, stormwater management, and utility layout
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
- Familiarity with permitting processes and local agency requirements is a plus

- Experience coordinating with public agencies and municipalities
- Knowledge of hydrology/hydraulics, erosion control, and drainage design
