Responsibilities

  • Design civil engineering projects including grading, drainage, utility, and roadway plans
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, surveyors, and other stakeholders to ensure design accuracy and timely delivery
  • Use Civil 3D to create alignments, surfaces, corridors, and profiles for design layouts
  • Perform engineering calculations and quantity takeoffs
  • Contribute to the QA/QC process and provide feedback on design improvements
  • Prepare construction documents and technical reports in accordance with applicable standards and client requirements
  • Join our partner firm, KFM Engineering & Design, as a Project Engineer, contributing to impactful land development and infrastructure projects across Texas.
  • In this mid-level role, you will be responsible for supporting and leading the design, permitting, and execution of civil engineering projects including site development, utility layout, and grading and drainage plans.
  • You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, support project managers, and contribute to delivering high-quality, technically sound engineering solutions.
  • Beyond engineering and design, KFM is dedicated to community engagement.

Requirements

  • 5 years of civil engineering experience, ideally in land development or infrastructure projects
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is required
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment
  • Microsoft 365 proficiency
  • 3 - 5 years of civil engineering experience, ideally in land development or infrastructure projects
  • PE license
  • Solid understanding of civil design principles including grading, stormwater management, and utility layout
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with permitting processes and local agency requirements is a plus

  • Experience coordinating with public agencies and municipalities
  • Knowledge of hydrology/hydraulics, erosion control, and drainage design
