About the role

  • Senior Advisor (Stakeholder Relations 18): Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $96,557 to $128,743 + a performance-based incentive.
  • Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment, with a current requirement of two in-office days per week, increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change).

  • The team leads the corporation's government and Parliamentary relations activities, including policy development, executive engagement, Parliamentary Affairs, Corporate Planning and the management of the Canada Account.
  • The team also represents EDC as part of Canada's delegation to the OECD and in key international forums to influence global policy agendas and rules-based frameworks in support of Canadian exporters.
  • The role leads key international and government relationships, engages subject matter experts across EDC, and contributes to a high-performing, collaborative team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Public Policy, International Relations, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in financing, transactions, advisory, business development, public policy, international affairs, or stakeholder relations.
  • Strong understanding of trade finance products, export credits, and international ECA commitments and obligations.
  • In-depth knowledge of the export finance product lifecycle (business development, underwriting, loan services, asset management).
  • Demonstrated experience in cross-functional collaboration and advising senior management, including executive and board levels.
  • Technical Skills Strong financial literacy and knowledge of trade finance practices.

Skills

  • Strong financial literacy and knowledge of trade finance practices.
  • Solid understanding of international trade, international business practices, ECAs, and organizations such as the OECD, WTO, and G7/G20.
  • Knowledge of EDC or comparable trade finance products and policies.
  • Experience in project management and attention to detail.
  • Established internal network within EDC.
  • Policy development, negotiation, or diplomatic experience.
  • Experience in financing-related subject matter.
  • Data analytics and visualization skills.
  • Candidates must meet the requisite government security screening requirements.
  • This position is open to individuals who meet all the essential criteria outlined above and submit their applications by the closing date.

Compensation

  • Advisor (Stakeholder Relations 17): Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $84,698 to $112,931 + a performance-based incentive.
  • Senior Advisor (Stakeholder Relations 18): Salaries are based on qualifications and experience and typically range from $96,557 to $128,743 + a performance-based incentive.
