Responsibilities
- Overview The Preconstruction Manager leads and manages the preconstruction process for complex industrial construction projects, from early concept through project handoff.
- This role is responsible for developing accurate cost estimates, schedules, scopes, and execution strategies while partnering closely with operations, estimating, design teams, and clients.
- Lead the preconstruction process for industrial construction projects from early concept through project handoff, collaborating with internal teams to define project scope, budgets, schedules, and execution strategies.
- Develop accurate conceptual, schematic, design development, and GMP cost estimates, including detailed quantity take-offs and pricing narratives.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to support successful project outcomes.
- Lead value engineering and cost optimization efforts while maintaining quality, safety, and schedule objectives.
- Support business development pursuits by contributing to proposals, interviews, and client presentations.
- Partner with Project Managers and field leadership to ensure a seamless transition from preconstruction to project execution.
- Assist in developing procurement strategies, staffing plans, and project execution plans.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Requirements
- Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
- 5+ years of experience in preconstruction, estimating, or project management within industrial or commercial construction.
- Experience with GMP, design-build, and negotiated contract delivery methods.
- Proficiency with estimating, scheduling, and project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, estimating platforms, Excel).
