About the role
- Work alongside experienced engineers, take on real projects with coaching and see ideas move from concept to production.
Responsibilities
- Handles small scale projects from inception to completion (timing, concept, feasibility, design, construction, try-out, launch, final buy-off (PPAP and run at rate), prototype programs, and engineering changes) with continuous follow-up by leadership.
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives
- Assists in developing material handling logistics (i.e. Aisle layout, bin placement, dunnage assists, etc.)
- Reviews, monitors and coordinates tooling design, building, approval process and capital budgets
- Reviews, co-ordinates and implements all customer approved engineering changes, including part level communication updates, physical part update, process sheet update, physical tooling change, etc.
- Works with all departments and customers to design solutions that improve production efficiency, ergonomics, safety and maintenance related issues
- Performs all duties in an environmentally responsible manner in accordance with the Modatek Systems Environmental Policy

Requirements
- Engineering Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or Trades Certification with equivalent relevant experience in Assembly, Tooling, and Design.
- 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience (co-op, internship, or practical plant experience counts)
- Basic ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Clear communication and the ability to work with technical, operations and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to uphold confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Ability to work overtime to meet customer needs.
- Prepare reports, charts and other documentation required for engineering records and projects
