About the role
- - Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- - 10 years of experience working on policy issues within government, think tanks, public interest groups, or relevant industry associations.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute a comprehensive engagement strategy that positions the organization as a thought leader and mission partner to executive leaders within the DoW and IC.
- Partner with internal technical and product teams to ensure our capabilities are evolving in lockstep with the requirements of the national defense strategy.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience working on policy issues within government, think tanks, public interest groups, or relevant industry associations.
- Experience working with the Department of War (DoW).
- Experience with tech policy.
Nice to have
- Experience working for a company within the defense industry.
- Experience working with the US Department of Defense (DoD), and familiarity with its organizational structure and decision-making processes.
- Knowledge of DoW operations, budget, and procurement processes.
- Ability to work effectively with defense-oriented stakeholders and policymakers.
- In this role, you'll advocate for Google to bring external perspectives back into the company to inform our perception and direction.
- Additionally, you will engage with key trade associations vital for advancing Google Cloud's goals in the government sector.
- Google takes its responsibilities seriously, including engaging with government and other stakeholders on important public policy challenges.
- Working closely with Google leaders, GAPP seeks to identify key policy issues, listen carefully to others' views and opinions, and distill and share the company's perspective on those issues with external stakeholders.
Compensation
- US: $181000 - $247000 (USD) + 20% bonus target + equity + benefits
