Responsibilities
- The Guide will provide targeted academic support, enrichment, and small-group instruction to third-year kindergarten students while supporting independence, school readiness, literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional growth.
- Instruction & Student Support
- Support literacy, math, executive functioning, and social-emotional development and preparation for first grade and 'stepping up' to first grade..
- Maintain accurate student progress documentation and communication records.
- Maintain professional communication with families and colleagues.
- Support positive relationships with families through ongoing communication and student updates.
Requirements
- Experience working with young children
- Experience in early childhood or kindergarten settings
- Familiarity with DCPCSB and OSSE expectations
- Participate in required staff meetings, trainings, and professional development as scheduled.
- Required
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education or related field
- Commitment to Montessori philosophy and child-centered learning
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Eligibility to work in the United States
- Preferred
- Montessori training or credential
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
