About the role
- Wing is looking for a Software Engineer, Data Infrastructure to join our Flight Systems team.
- This role is Hybrid based in our Palo Alto, California headquarters.
- Ultimately, you'll provide the data backbone that is essential for scaling Wing's operations safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Partner cross-functionally with software engineers, aerospace engineers, and flight operations/business teams to develop, deliver and scale data pipelines essential for Wing's delivery business and aircraft operations.
- Develop and optimize a mix of batch and interactive services across data pipelines, backend systems, and data serving systems to power our operations.
- Monitor, validate, and maintain data pipelines to ensure consistent performance and data integrity.
- Ability to independently work with cross-functional teams to drive features to completion.
- The Data Infrastructure team builds the foundational systems that manage the vast data generated by our global fleet of autonomous aircraft.
Requirements
- 3-6 years of experience programming backend systems and/or data pipelines
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Demonstrated coding experience with one or more languages - C++, Java, Python, Go and/or JavaScript.
- Experience with data analysis tools (such as BigQuery, SQL), data visualization tools, and with data processing algorithms (Hadoop, Flume, Spark, Apache Beam, MapReduce)
- Demonstrated coding experience with one or more languages

Compensation
- $190,000 - $202,000 USD
- Employment at Wing is based solely on a person's merit and qualifications directly related to professional competence.
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is the salary range below + bonus + equity + benefits.
- Wing's salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
