About the role
- STAY AWESOME: Tandem Diabetes Care is proud to manufacture and sell the Tandem Mobi system and t:slim X2 insulin pump with Control-IQ+ technology - an advanced predictive algorithm that automates insulin delivery.
- This role plays a key part in defining, designing, and driving the development of new capabilities, while also supporting features deployed in the field.
- The Systems Engineer II works across teams to ensure alignment, traceability, and integration of system architecture within the broader product ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Designs and documents solution based on the user and business needs.
- Creates, documents, and owns system and subsystem design and requirements.
- Collaborates with various stakeholders such as software development teams, Product Management, Cybersecurity, and Quality Assurance.
- Provides system expertise to support on-market-products technical support troubleshooting, failure analysis, and triage of system level issues.
- Maintains tight collaboration with the teams responsible for product V&V, reviews test plans and protocols, and helps triage issues uncovered during testing activities.
Requirements
- Advanced coursework, master's degree, or professional licensing in related field desirable.
- 2+ years' experience working as a Systems Engineer or with systems engineering responsibilities (required)
- Experience with requirements management systems highly desirable.
- This review is required to ensure that individuals in such roles uphold high standards of trust and integrity so as to protect the interests of our customers, employees, and stakeholders.

Compensation
- The starting base pay range for this position is $81,000 - $110,000 annually.
- Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate's location and the overall job market.
- In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.
- You'll also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (with accrual starting on day 1) and you will have access to a 401k plan with company match as well as an Employee Stock Purchase plan.
