About the role
- Additionally, this position would be eligible for overtime for all hours actually worked, consistent with the Local 32BJ Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Please note that wages are subject to tax withholdings and other applicable deductions.
- This position will have midweek days off.

- The Security Officer will work closely with Security Team Leaders to maintain a safe and secure environment for our employees, tenants, and visitors.
Requirements
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
- Demonstrated ability to listen and communicate calmly, effectively, and courteously in both emergency and non- emergency situations
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time, typically for the duration of an 8-hour shift
- Must have a technical aptitude and willingness to learn how to perform security x-ray and screening procedure and use required equipment

- Strong verbal communication skills
- Must possess agility, and visual and auditory acuity to perform the essential responsibilities of this position
- Successful candidates will have earned their high school diplomas or equivalent. College level course coursework is a plus
- Must possess a valid New York State Security Guard License (8 & 16 hours)

Nice to have
- Knowledgeable and ability to use x-ray image recognition, Magnetometer alarm resolution, and related technologies preferred

Compensation
- Salary is $22.20 per hour.
