About the role

  • We tackle complex legal matters across 12 practice areas for clients ranging from Fortune 100 to SMBs, empowering our legal professionals to engage in meaningful work that advances their careers.

Responsibilities

  • Counseling clients on the design, implementation, and operation of patient support programs, co-pay assistance programs, and related arrangements, with particular focus on Anti-Kickback Statute and False Claims Act considerations.
  • This position offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with industry-leading organizations, helping shape market access strategies, navigate complex regulatory requirements, and support commercial success while mitigating legal and compliance risk.

Requirements

  • Proven track record drafting and negotiating PBM, payer, GPO, wholesaler, rebate, and other market access-related agreements.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex regulatory requirements into practical, business-oriented, and risk-based strategies.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree or equivalent and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 5-8 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm and/or in-house legal department with a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or biopharmaceutical company, with significant experience supporting market access, pricing, reimbursement, and/or government pricing matters.
  • Strong knowledge of laws, regulations, and guidance governing pharmaceutical commercial and market access activities, including FDA regulations, the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FDCA), federal and state Anti-Kickback Statutes, beneficiary inducement rules, OIG guidance and advisory opinions, the False Claims Act, and the PhRMA Code.
  • Experience advising on advertising and promotion, scientific exchange, patient support programs, and interactions with healthcare professionals and payers.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, technology, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.

  • Experience advising on government pricing and reporting requirements, including Medicaid Best Price, AMP, ASP, 340B, and VA/FSS programs.
  • Familiarity with value-based contracting, outcomes-based agreements, and innovative reimbursement models.
  • Experience supporting pharmaceutical market access, trade, channel, pricing, and HEOR functions.
  • Strong understanding of payer, PBM, specialty pharmacy, and distribution channel relationships.
  • Ability to navigate evolving regulatory and enforcement landscapes while providing practical business solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

  • The estimated total compensation for full-time Axiom attorney roles is $104,500-325,000 per year and for non-attorney roles is $71,250-309,750 per year.
