About the role
- The Transportation Coordinator is responsible for planning, organizing, and overseeing transportation activities.
Responsibilities
- They collaborate with different departments, external partners, and transportation providers to ensure timely and cost-effective transportation solutions.
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, routes, and transportation-related documents such as customs paperwork.
Requirements
- Required: 1+ years of relevant experience in shipping/receiving, transportation, logistics, or a related field.
- Adaptability and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Required: High school diploma
- Required: Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Nice to have
- 1-2 years of relevant experience at a third-party logistics company or carrier.
- Evaluate transportation modes for customer orders to minimize freight expense.
- Assist with spot quotes.
- Assist with route planning and scheduling for both inbound and outbound shipments.
- Track service issues for Transportation Analyst to address with carriers.
- Identify areas for process improvement and assist with implementing transportation efficiency enhancements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Preferred: 1-2 years of relevant experience at a third-party logistics company or carrier.
