About the role

  • Job Description Summary Organization's Summary Statement: The University of Maryland Eastern Shore seeks a 12-month, full-time, professional live-in Resident Director (RD).
  • The RD will participate in a 24 hours/365 days on-call duty rotation.
  • Actual hours vary greatly depending upon events, emergencies, etc.

Requirements

  • Ability to work at a fast pace and handle spontaneous work demands
  • Experience working with different departments in a university setting
  • Experience recruiting, selecting, training, supervising Residence Life staff,
  • Experience using The Housing Director (THD), Simplicity, and Peoplesoft
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Because the RD is one of four staff that are the primary professional staff members available in the residence halls for student interaction, spending evening and weekend time with students is required.
  • The successful candidate must be able to show acceptable documentation establishing the right to accept employment in the United States of America without employer sponsorship.

  • Knowledge of behavior management and crisis intervention techniques.

Compensation
