About the role
- Provides outstanding primary care nursing services for marginalized clients, who may have severe and persistent mental illness, across the lifespan.
Responsibilities
- Performs venepuncture and wound care on a daily basis
Requirements
- Intermediate proficiency in oral and written French an asset
Skills
- Membership in the Ontario College of Nurses' Association and the Registered Nurses' Association of Ontario
- Sound knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act, Internal agency and other related legislation in Ontario
- Sound knowledge of psychotropic medications including usage and potential side effects
- Ability to acquire and utilize community resources effectively to meet client's needs
- Ability to resolve complex client problems in order to ensure a high standard of nursing service
- Excellent assessment and organizational skills
- Flexibility to adapt to change
- Ability to work independently when necessary
- Ability to think critically and creatively
- Valid Ontario Driver's license, access to a dependable vehicle in safe working order and appropriate insurance coverage
- Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook), internet
- Up to date CPR and First Aid
