Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business requirements related to:
- Finance controls, audit support, and data lineage
- Partner with Finance and Accounting teams to:
- Support production investigations related to financial results and reporting
- Collaborate with developers, QA teams, and data professionals to ensure solutions meet standards for:
- Collaborate with developers,
- Maintains confidentiality and professionalism
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Technology, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of related professional experience
- Experience with data analysis and business systems
- Proficiency with SQL, Microsoft Office, and data manipulation tools
- Knowledge of software testing methodologies and procedures
- 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting Finance or Accounting organizations
- Experience supporting:
- Proven ability to translate accounting and financial reporting requirements into technical solutions and IT deliverables
- Experience partnering with Controllers, Financial Reporting teams, Accounting Policy groups, Auditors, and other Finance leaders

- In this highly visible role, you'll work directly with Finance leaders, accounting professionals, and technology teams to translate complex financial reporting requirements into scalable, reliable, and auditable technology solutions.
- Financial close and reconciliation processes
- Statutory and GAAP financial reporting
- Intercompany, reinsurance, and allocation workflows
- Translate accounting and finance requirements into:
- User stories with clear acceptance criteria
- Functional specifications for reports, interfaces, and data solutions
- Test cases and user acceptance testing (UAT) scenarios supporting control validation and business outcomes
- Evaluate upstream and downstream system impacts
- Identify data quality issues, process gaps, and control risks
- Financial accuracy
- Data completeness
- Regulatory compliance
- Auditability and controls
- What We're Looking For
- Direct experience working within an insurance carrier environment (P&C, Life, Health, or Specialty insurance)
