  • Position Overview An Ambulance Mechanic is a specialized professional responsible for maintaining the mechanical integrity and operational readiness of emergency medical service vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, on engines, transmissions, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Maintain and repair emergency equipment, lighting systems, oxygen systems, and vehicle-mounted electronics.
  • Lead and mentor junior mechanics, providing technical guidance and oversight.
  • Collaborate with the Fleet Services Director on fleet planning, workflow, and quality assurance.
  • Conduct and document vehicle inspections and certification-related maintenance.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical school or associate degree in automotive or diesel technology preferred.
  • Minimum 4-6 years of experience in automotive or heavy-vehicle repair, with 2+ years in emergency or specialty vehicle maintenance.

Compensation

  • $38 - $60 per hour.
