About the role
- We're hiring Senior Software Development Engineers (SDE3) across multiple engineering teams in our Seattle office.
- Strengthen engineering culture by mentoring peers, leading technical discussions, conducting code reviews, participating in interviews, and supporting onboarding.
Responsibilities
- full-stack ownership of customer-facing product experiences, high engineering standards, and a mandate to build the next generation of trusted, borderless financial services.
- As a full-stack Senior SDE, you'll own ambiguous, high-impact problems end-to-end - from customer-facing web and mobile experiences down through the backend services and systems that power them.
- You'll partner closely with product managers, designers, analysts, and fellow engineers to translate customer needs into scalable, reliable software, while helping shape the technical direction and engineering culture of your team.
- Every team shares a common thread: full-stack ownership of customer-facing product experiences, high engineering standards, and a mandate to build the next generation of trusted, borderless financial services.
- Lead technical design and architecture for complex, often greenfield problems - breaking ambiguity into clear technical strategies and measurable outcomes.
- Build full-stack, customer-facing features spanning web and mobile front ends (TypeScript, React or React Native) and backend services (Java, Kotlin, Go, or Python).
- Partner with product managers, designers, analysts, and other engineers to gather requirements and deliver scalable, high-quality software with a customer-centric mindset.
- Drive improvements to team processes, shape cross-team technical designs, and divide complex features into components that can be parallelized for timely delivery.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support the reliability of your team's services.
- This creates a consistent, meaningful overlap that supports team norms and business needs.
Requirements
- Proficiency in one or more modern backend languages - TypeScript, JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, or Go.
- Experience with distributed, large-scale systems and a working understanding of service-oriented or microservices architecture.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, including managed services.
Nice to have
- experience in FinTech, payments, or another regulated industry where reliability, security, and compliance shape engineering decisions.
Skills
- Ship well-tested, observable, well-documented, efficient, and resilient systems that meet reliability and latency expectations.
Compensation
- The starting base salary range for this position is typically $180,000-$225,000.
