About the role
- Provides accurate information on a daily basis to operations, transportation, and purchasing through multiple forms of communication.
Responsibilities
- Collaborates with Analysts, operations, receiving, and our carriers to maximize efficiency of loads.
- Manages the communication and flow of product through Capstone consolidation points.
- Evaluates lane based activities to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
- Adheres to and supports freight management strategies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to compare/contrast, innovate, analyze, coordinate, and develop solutions to a variety of complex problems.
- Human Relations - Teamwork, positively interact with others, strong relationship building and commitment to Cornerstone Value of Customer is King, honesty, integrity.
Requirements
- Situation management through proper analysis of information available at that time and the ability to determine the best course of action with GFS best interest in mind.
Nice to have
- Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field is preferred.
- Brokerage/Trucking background preferred.
- Experience with Oracle and SAP preferred.
- Ability to comprehend and operate transportation management systems.
- Basic knowledge of spreadsheet, word processing, email and internet software applications.
- Knowledge of Oracle transportation management software applications preferred.
- Knowledge of freight management and supply chain activities.
- Must demonstrate math and accounting aptitude.
