About the role
- Specter is hiring a Manufacturing Technician to join a high-impact team supporting the rapid development and iteration of our core hardware.
- The products range from complex sensing components to cutting edge electronics, from concept to reality.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret technical documentation, working from engineering drawings, schematics, and controlled processes to ensure build accuracy.
- Provide hands-on feedback to improve design manufacturability.
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency, ensuring all work meets the rigorous quality requirements of mission-critical hardware.
- Follow and help improve build instructions, wiring diagrams, and test checklists
- Perform basic soldering, crimping, and connector assembly
- Track parts, builds, and materials using internal inventory systems
- Support prototype and pilot builds alongside mechanical and electrical engineers
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace

Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical, electrical, and/or PCBA assembly and rework.
- Hands-on experience with fabrication, repair, and/or integration.
- Excellent concentration and attention to detail, with a proven track record of maintaining high accuracy in precision work.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous, fast-iteration environments where designs and requirements evolve rapidly.
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
Nice to have
- Experience with ruggedized electronics or mission-critical hardware systems.
- Prior experience in a high-growth startup or R&D environment.
