About the role
- The Designated RN Charge nurse is a role model and a resource for the department.
- The Charge is responsible for assessing the units' need to provide adequate resources for current and upcoming shifts by collaborating with the director, nursing supervisor and other departments.
- Front-line leadership for the department.
Requirements
- If holding this position in the BHP Treatment & Recovery department must have two years of psychiatric nursing experience
- Delegation of patient assignments based on acuity, delegates tasks appropriately and adjusts staffing needs as required.
Compensation
- Actively participates is staff 90 day and annual evaluations as assigned/directed by the Department Director.

- Coordinates with medical staff and provides leadership and guidance to the nursing team to ensure high quality and safe patient care is delivered.
- Develop therapeutic relationships with patients and families promoting decision making based on the assessment of patient medical histories, symptoms, examinations, diagnosis, conditions and treatments.
