- AMS is seeking a passionate and data-driven Middle School Science Teacher (Grades 5-8) to join our team at the Nellis Campus in Las Vegas for the 2026-2027 school year.

Responsibilities
- Deliver rigorous, standards-aligned science instruction aligned with AMS curriculum and Nevada Academic Content Standards.
- Differentiate instruction to support students performing above and below grade level.
- Establish and maintain a structured, positive, and high-expectations classroom environment.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, instructional coaches, and school leadership to strengthen instructional practices.
- Use student performance data to support instructional improvement and targeted interventions.
- The Middle School Science Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, standards-aligned instruction that develops students' scientific reasoning, inquiry skills, and understanding of core scientific concepts.
Requirements
- Successfully pass required background checks in accordance with Nevada state requirements
- Minimum Qualifications
Nice to have
- Previous experience teaching middle school science (grades 5-8)
- Experience working in Title I or high-need school environments
- Experience supporting English Language Learners (ELLs)
- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred
- Ongoing professional development and instructional coaching
- Opportunities for leadership growth within a growing multi-state network
Skills
- Teach core science concepts including life science, physical science, and earth/space science.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and guide instructional planning.
- Foster scientific inquiry, experimentation, and critical thinking skills.
- Implement PBIS and proactive classroom management strategies.
- Support students' academic, behavioral, and social-emotional development.
- Encourage curiosity, exploration, and student engagement in scientific learning.
- Participate in weekly professional development and professional learning communities (PLCs).
- Contribute to school-wide systems focused on student achievement and continuous improvement.
- Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and academic expectations.
- Conduct parent-teacher conferences and maintain strong home-school partnerships.
- Support family engagement initiatives that promote student success.
Compensation
- Range: $54,000 - $60,813 annually (DOE)
